What's up with the media?

Ok so I'm looking at news stories on various websites, and on every site it's the same.  For every worthwhile news story there's 5 more that shouldn't be considered "news".  For instance, there's like one story about the devastating tornadoes, but 5 stories about the Will and Kate wedding...who honestly cares about that wedding?  Has everyone forgotten that they've done nothing worthwhile?  They were pretty much born into celebritydom and people just can't ignore them.
